Histroy of EIS

 History of EIS

 under construction......

1976, serveral copier mechanics got together and formed EIS as a partership firm. It operated from one of the partern’s home and later established its business offce at 50A Armenian Street. EIS then concentrated solely on the repair and selling of used copier machines and the suppliers in the initial years. It was only a few years of concrete experiences in repairing that the firm started to import reconditioned copiers from Japan for distribution in the local market.

1984, EIS was incorporated into a private limited company in Singapore.

1989, EIS was appointed as the Sold Tchnical Company in the after Sales Service of Risograph Products. We were chosen because of our strong technical background and expertise in the Office Automation Products. Risograph handled their own sales in the Singapore market but leave all after sales service completely to EIS. As Risgraph products were mainly popular in the education institutions, our attention was focused to the schools in Singapore. Naturally we successfully emerged as one of the leading companies in the service and supplies of office automation products in schools.

1994, EIS was appointed as the sold distributor of Lanier in Singapore. Lanier is America’s No. 1 Copier brand. From then onwards, EIS successfully planted many copiers in government organizations, mainly in the schools, prison and JTC.

1999, the alliance with Risograph distributor ceased because of the setting up of their own technical department. During the same time, Ricoh Company acquired Lanier Products worldwide. As a result of the termination of the contract, EIS was confronted and challenged by the need to search for an alternative source; under a different brand name to work with. The search did not take long. Indeed, Duplo Japan, a major and leading manufacturer of Digital Duplicators and other accessories invited us to represent its wide range of equipments, namely, digital duplicator, collator, folder, booklet maker, etc in Singapore.

Shortly after Duplo, Ricoh also wanted EIS to be part of their family despite having their very own representative even before EIS comes into existence. From then, EIS became the business partner of Ricoh.

2000, EIS attained its ISO 9002 status.

2003, EIS upgraded its ISO status to ISO 9001:2000.

Today, EIS operates from its own modern and fully furnished office with a staff strength of 40. Beside Duplo, Ricoh, EIS has also brought in more graphic related equipment to further enhance the company as a cone stop centre for printing in recent years.
